By the morning of May 24, all 77 Blue Sky Rescue volunteers participating in the earthquake rescue in Yangbi, Yunnan had been evacuated.

I. Disaster situation investigation

According to the arrangements of the command headquarters, the Blue Sky Rescue volunteers carried out investigations of the disaster situation. They conducted safety - hazard inspections and searched for people in Xiulingpu Village and Pingli Village.

At the Baizhang Village Committee, as well as at the temporary resettlement site, the Blue Sky Rescue volunteers got to know about the disaster - stricken situation of the village from the village Party secretary and the general commander. They also inspected the damage to houses in the disaster - affected area. It was learned that many houses in the village were dilapidated and dangerous. To prevent potential risks from aftershocks, all the villagers were gathered at the resettlement site.

The investigation results in Goupicun are as follows: There are 308 households and a total of 1,331 people in this village, including over 50 elderly people staying behind, more than 100 left - behind children, and 4 households enjoying the "five guarantees" (food, clothing, medical care, housing, and burial expenses provided by the government). In this earthquake disaster, there were no casualties and no house collapses. However, 70% of the houses in the village had cracks of varying degrees, making them uninhabitable. All the villagers were living in self - built temporary resettlement sites. In addition, the road leading to the village was less affected by the disaster. The village committee had arranged for people to clean up the fallen rocks, so traffic was not affected. The current urgent food needs are as follows: 300 kilograms of rice, 60 barrels of oil, 200 kilograms of Chinese cabbage, 150 kilograms of meat, 200 kilograms of potatoes, and 150 kilograms of eggs.
