The rescue operation for Typhoon Rammasun in Hainan in 2014

Blue Sky Rescue Teams across the country were put on emergency standby and rushed to Hainan to carry out rescue operations.

In 2014, Typhoon Rammasun, the 9th typhoon of the year, affected 216 towns in 18 cities and counties of Hainan Province, leaving 3.25829 million people affected. A total of 23,163 houses collapsed, and the total direct economic loss reached 11.95226 billion yuan. Typhoon Rammasun caused the most severe direct economic losses in Hainan Province since 1949.


A total of 459 members from the Blue Sky Rescue Teams across the country participated in the rescue mission.
